October at the Crazy Cat Comedy Club is Music Night!

Our ever popular Crazy Cat Musical Comedy Night is back again and this time the line up includes Ashley Wragg with his Barra Best song which has been personally approved by Barra himself, Neil Dickson with his piano, with songs including the unforbidden love between 2 major NI politicians. We also have Steve Amos. Steve was featured this year in Belnash at the Titanic concert and his songs include life issues but maybe how he treats these issues is a bit different to other people.

Our headline act is The Inappropriates band who are very appropriate for our musical comedy night. They have made their name with their song ‘Scare Ho’ and if you haven’t heard it, you are seriously missing out. It’s a comical treat to the ears and imagination!

All this hosted by the musical comic talents of the retro loving Mags White.

Doors open 8pm and it’s a BYO venue.  Book your tickets online here >>

Victoria E Armstrong debuts her one woman show ‘Fridg-it!’ on the Belfast Barge!

Victoria’s first stand up experience was an impromptu set in Gran Canaria in 2009, at an karaoke event. In 2011, she performed her first set in Belfast and has been performing at clubs all over Ireland and in London too. She now runs her own comedy events under the banner of Crazy Cat Comedy.

Victoria loved the benefits of laughter yoga so much she now teaches it and manages to find time to create corporate entertainment and fundraiser events and produce regular murder mystery nights.

She has hosted for names such as Kevin McAleer, Jimmy Cricket and Joe Rooney (Father Damo in Father Ted) to name a few and has worked alongside Tim McGarry and Jake O’Kane.

In this one woman show Victoria shares her experiences of growing up with a mother who’s tagline seemed to be ‘I didn’t know about that til I was 37’. She also gives an insight to sexaholics anonymous, why she never took up smoking and how she is completely chilled out that she lost her virginity to a fridge freezer and hence the cool show title just had to be ‘Fridg-it!’

Hosted by George Firehorse and support from William Thompson

Join Victoria on the Belfast Barge on 4th October as part of the Bellylaughs Comedy Festival 2016. Doors open 8pm and it’s a BYO venue.

Crazy Cat Comedy producing new sitcom stage show with Belfast Comedy Writers Group

Crazy Cat is delighted to be working on ‘Altnacrackin’ the new sitcom stage show.

What on earth is Altnacrackin we hear you ask?

Altnacrackin is a madcap small rural town in Northern Ireland, populated by an assortment of crazy characters; the melodramatic Mayor Slayer, the jaded news anchor Patrick MacPadraig and his sensationalist reporter Judith Priest, anarchist feminist Millie No Willie, Norma the ever joyful shopkeeper, the angry priest Bad Father and many more.

Belfast Comedy writers are performing their second live sketch show, Altnacrackin (Runner Up Best Kept Outside Toilet 1987!) at BellyLaughs Festival on October 3rd, upstairs in the Duke of York bar, Belfast.

We would like to invite you to come down and meet these ‘characters’ in true Norn Iron style.

Doors open 8pm, Bar available and tickets can be booked online here >>

The Belfast Barge may need to prepare for repairs!

In September, we’re strengthening the Belfast Barge floors, walls and overhead beams for a whole lotta laughter as we prepare for our headliner Victoria Garret.  With her rendition of Beauty and the priest, this won’t be a night for the faint hearted by any stretch of the imagination.

Victoria is best described as … an ex-drag queen, ex-man and ex-traordinary. Vicki is a force to be reckoned with, heckle if u dare!!! (And she will dare u!)

Support on the night comes from Kieran Mena, Andrew Bradbury and Donny Kingston who will also cause some damage with their quick wit and insightful humour.  Hosted by Victoria E Armstrong

Doors open 8pm.  It’s BYO and you can book your tickets online here >>

“The Most Dangerous Harpist in the World™” hits the Belfast Barge!

Ursula Burns became The Most Dangerous Harpist in the World™ when she was kidnapped by circus performers off a burning bus in Belfast. They made her write funny songs about hospitals, umbrellas, Jesus and even a happy one about crying in a Portaloo! All delivered with acrobatic vocals and a little touch of comedy magic.

A Belfast-born songwriter, musician and comedian, Ursula Burns has been performing all her life, everywhere from medieval castles to the Royal Albert Hall (twice!)

Her fifth solo album, The Dangerous Harpist, was released in the spring of this year and reflects a lifetime spent on the road in various music, theatre and circus guises, with its dark, deep and lovely songs and virtuoso harp playing.

Ursula has toured her music extensively in Ireland, UK, Scandinavia, Europe, America and Australia and has played with artists including Loudon Wainwright III, Jackson Browne, Billy Bragg, Beth Orton and The Blue Nile.

The award-winning Ms Burns  will be on board the Belfast Barge on 4th August 2016 to preview her Edinburgh Show!

We guarantee you’ve never seen the harp played like this before.

“The Fringe’s own Kate Bush” – Paul Fleckney, www.londonisfunny.com

“Enchanting and funny in equal measure, with a lovely, lilting voice that makes the words ‘Falls Road’ sound like Brigadoon!” – Kate Copstick, Scotsman
